Az is the Founder and Senior Partner at Nudge Factory and has worked in public relations, public affairs and politics for more than a decade.
With a range of experience in the sector, Az has a thorough knowledge of UK political processes as well as an extensive range of contacts from Town Halls to Whitehall. He previously worked for the Conservative Party as an adviser.
Before founding Nudge Factory in 2011, he helped deliver the Conservatives’ social action initiative, the forerunner to David Cameron’s ‘Big Society’ programme. Az’s work in this field helped shape how social value has been meshed into mainstream British politics. He also has in-depth experience as a political adviser in local government.
At Nudge Factory, Az leads the team of corporate affairs experts with infectious enthusiasm. He advises clients of all sizes, including global corporates, governments, hedge funds, private family offices and some of the largest developers in the world.

Kevin is a former council leader, long-standing councillor and an expert in local government, politics and development communications.
Kevin founded a communications company from which he stood down upon becoming Council Leader. He has twice been the Leader of the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames Council and held a number of other roles in politics including running for Parliament. He has also been chief executive of both commercial and charitable organisations.
Kevin provides clients with forensic insight into local politics, decision-making and the art of engagement with local political stakeholders. First elected as a councillor in 1998, he has over two decades of knowledge of politics and during that time he has held a variety of roles in local decision-making. Subscribing to the view that ‘all politics is local’, Kevin gives highly effective advice on how to navigate the political landscape surrounding regeneration, planning policy and engagement, in addition to all other areas of local government.
He is a serving councillor in Kingston and Leader of the Opposition on the Council. Kevin holds a BSc in economics and politics.

Jason is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and has operated at the most senior level as a consultant for more than a decade.
His experience spans corporate reputation management, crisis communications and strategic planning. He has worked across diverse sectors, from professional services to soft power initiatives and foreign direct investment campaigns.
He is one of the UK’s most qualified PR and marketing professionals, and is a Fellow of the CIPR and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a Founding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner and a Chartered Marketer. Jason holds postgraduate diplomas in PR and marketing and an MA in Public Relations.
Jason works with corporations and business leaders to shape brand narratives and integrated communications. An expert in coordinating disciplines to maximise outcomes, Jason’s counsel is effective and impactful.
He is passionate about the intersection of business and politics, and interested in emerging markets.
Jason is a Fellow of the British-American Project and a Visiting Lecturer at Birmingham City University. He has also given keynote speeches across Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

Eric is a former elected politician with experience of holding office at virtually every tier of UK politics, most recently as a Member of Parliament and Private Parliamentary Secretary to a Minister in two government departments.
Eric’s wide-ranging political career started in 1986 and includes representing Lancaster and Fleetwood in the House of Commons until 2015, and serving in the London Assembly, as a London borough councillor and as a joint council leader. He led the Conservative Group on the London Assembly between 2002 and 2004, and also sat on London police and fire authorities. Before his election to Parliament, Eric worked for Conservative Campaign HQ as Head of Cities and Diversity.
Eric’s varied roles in politics have built-up a first-rate understanding of the UK political landscape at all levels, how to engage with politicians and understanding the public policy agenda. He provides highly effective strategic counsel to clients across all of Nudge Factory’s practices.
He was appointed an OBE in the 1991 New Years Honours List. Eric holds the distinction of being the only Conservative to have led Hackney Council.

David has worked in and around UK politics for nearly two decades, specialising in research, analysis and public affairs.
With substantial experience including senior roles in national, regional and local politics, David is equipped with enormous insight on political trends. His expansive career includes being Deputy Head of Office for the Conservative Group on the London Assembly, Head of Candidates for the Conservative Party, senior adviser to several MPs and Head of Policy and Campaigns at a national charity.
He offers our clients strategic political counsel founded on a rigorously detailed approach to research bolstered by his significant experience of British politics. David leads on Nudge Knowledge, the research arm of the company which offers insight beyond the headlines through articles, in-depth reports, briefings and analysis on selected topics.
David served as a councillor between 1999 and 2002, making him the youngest in London at the time. He has a particular interest in the study of election results and a strong understanding of election law.

Emma is Nudge Factory’s Company Secretary and Finance Director with responsibility for finance, accounts and human resources.
With a varied career background in administration, Emma initially worked as an administrator in facilities management before taking a career break to bring up her children and get closely involved in local politics.
Having also spent ten years in a hands-on capacity buying, renovating and selling property, Emma brings a practical perspective to managing the administration of the company, including its human resources and compliance functions.

Jason is a politically astute communications professional with a wide range of experience of the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Beginning his career as a political adviser in local government, Jason moved to work in the House of Commons providing research and communications to two senior Members of Parliament. Following that he ran communications, including reputation and crisis management, for one of the UK’s largest employers at a time of considerable pressure for the company.
Jason then worked as Director of Communications for a national charity in the justice sector, specialising in political engagement, and proactive and reactive PR. He has directed successful campaigns leading to national media coverage and legislative change.
At Nudge Factory, he works across its practices and advises clients on bespoke solutions to achieve the right results. Jason has a deep interest in political decision-making and strategies to influence it.
Jason holds a degree in law. He later went on to study legal and political theory at postgraduate level. He remains politically active, serving as a local councillor in South West London.

Martha is an Associate supporting the company’s research, monitoring and media analysis work for clients.
Before joining the Nudge Factory team, Martha worked in the not-for-profit sector for a communications agency in a research and administrative capacity. Her skills and experience add to the business in monitoring media coverage for clients, as well as the production of up-to-date commercially relevant briefings across all practice areas.
Martha has a keen eye for detail on important developments in local, regional and national government structures, distilling content into concise reports, ops notes and presentations. She also works to ensure stakeholder mapping is relevant and effective in a range of areas, specialising in local and regional political contexts.
Additionally, Martha provides high-level organisational support to large-scale client events. Clients rely on her regular updates to help them keep ahead of the curve in their politically-sensitive commercial operations, fitting seamlessly into helping them achieve results.

Lacey is an Associate working in monitoring, analysis and research across our client portfolio.
She began her career providing political research and advice to the Progressive Conservative Party in Canada at a provincial level on issues ranging from tobacco policy and health, to homelessness and education. Following this she moved back to England focusing on youth policy in the Office for Civil Society and Innovation within the Cabinet Office.
Lacey advises Nudge Factory’s clients on complex and fast-moving political and regulatory developments relating to corporate objectives. She monitors parliamentary business and committees, as well as those of devolved nations and other stakeholder groups relevant to our clients. Lacey works across all practices to ensure they are fully serviced.
She also provides hands-on support for stakeholder events, bringing clients face-to-face with decision-makers at all levels of government. Lacey has a flair for providing qualitative insight as well as tracking trends in public policy.
Lacey studied political science and economics at university in Canada.

Rufus is an accomplished professional with celebrated experience in canine affairs.
With a background predominantly in fetching, extensive walks and culinary expertise in household tidbits, Rufus knows his way around a public affairs office. As a team player, he will always play ball.
At Nudge Factory his counsel is straight to the point but his bark is certainly worse than his bite. With an eye for detail, he can strip even the most complex problems down to the bone. Rufus is also a calm operator and makes even the most stressful situations look like a walk in the park.
Always willing to take the lead with dogged determination, no piece of client work is too tough for Rufus and he does not settle for a paw performance. He is known in the industry to have never knowingly bitten off more than he can chew.

Carys offers our clients expert strategic political counsel in Nudge Factory’s public affairs practice.
Ahead of joining the Nudge Factory team, Carys built her expertise through a variety of roles, including as Head of Government Affairs for a trade body, running the Financial Conduct Authority’s public affairs team, communications for a refugee rights charity and public affairs for an alcohol health charity. She also currently lectures Masters level students in public affairs and public relations. Carys specialises in public affairs strategy for businesses in the financial world, trade bodies and charities. She also offers bespoke training for those giving evidence to Select Committee hearings – particularly for high-profile, media-intense appearances.
In 2010, Carys ran in Thurrock as a Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats. Prior to that, she gained her political spurs in Parliament, firstly as a Researcher to Danny Alexander MP, and later as the Liberal Democrats’ Policy Adviser on the environment, food and rural affairs portfolio. She has also worked abroad in the Republic of Maldives as political consultant to the leader of the Maldivian Democratic Party.
Carys trained as a journalist, holds an MA in Human Rights and is an Accredited Practitioner as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Roger offers expert counsel to our clients across Nudge Factory’s local government and private client practices.
Roger joined the Nudge Factory team following 16 years as a Member of the London Assembly. During his time at the GLA, he served as Deputy Mayor of London and Leader of the Conservative Group. Roger stepped down from elected politics in May 2016.
His time as an elected member at the GLA, together with 20 years as a local councillor and as chair of an authority planning committee, gives him the ability to provide clients with genuine insight, advice and counsel on strategic and local planning issues across the UK. He also coaches our local government clients and their teams so that they are best prepared ahead of planning and licensing committees.
Roger further offers specialist coaching for our private client practice in spoken communication. Whether it be speech delivery, debating or political preparation; his background as a trained barrister and his decades in politics gives him expert ability to help our clients with their personal reputation.

Jivko joined the Nudge Factory team following more than 15 years of local government experience in the fields of economic development and regeneration. He advises our clients in our CSR and social value practice.
Jivko has extensive knowledge of the dynamics governing local authorities and their requirements and aspirations when procuring regeneration schemes and approving new large construction projects. His time at a local authority in London has given him significant experience in Section 106 negotiations, particularly in developing the skills and employment, local supply chain and local benefits expected from each approved development.

Alex joined the Nudge Factory team as a Consultant Partner in 2017.
Having worked across a range of sectors including retail, residential, energy, waste management and transport, Alex Wilson has significant experience delivering public engagement to support high profile development schemes. He has gained hard-won planning consents in every part of the country and advised some of the biggest names in property – including Sainsbury’s, National Grid, Barratt Homes, Morrisons, Land Securities, High Speed 2, Tesco and Taylor Wimpey.
Alex also has a strong track record in national and local politics. During the 2010 General Election he played a key role in the Conservative Party’s national campaign team, providing expert polling and focus group analysis that contributed directly to the Party’s successful target seats campaign.
On a local level, Alex was elected as councillor in the London Borough of Redbridge where he chaired a number of committees and served as Cabinet member for Planning and Public Protection. He stepped down from the Council at the 2014 elections to concentrate on his career in property and development communications, but remains active in politics across London.
